I have a gaming computer qx9650 oc to 4ghz 24/7 and evga 790i ftw 4gb ddr3 memmory and sandisk 60bg ssd primry hd becuse there is no enough place to storge i need to buy a new hd but my friend have to new hard disks and he will make a disccount for me so wich is better ?

the hard disks :

1- WD3200AAKS-00L9A0 > its 320gb

2- WD5002ABYS-02B1B0 > its 500gb

so wich better and faster ? and good for gaming pc ?

What kind of discount are you getting for those drives?
 
I means the WD5002ABYS is a RE disk, ( enterprise disk) but it's an oldmodel , so I'm not sure anymore
 
After searching the model numbers, the 320GB drive is a Caviar Blue and the 500GB drive is an "RE" Enterprise Storage drive. Both drives are SATA 3Gb/s drives. I haven't done enough searching to determine if the 320GB drive is a single- or dual-platter drive, which would make it faster than the RE drive in real-world applications.

But you mentioned that you're using a SanDisk SSD. What's the model number of that? And what do you have on it so far?
 
i have Sandisk Ultra SSD 60GB and its just for OS windows 7 64bit and some software ... but what will be better !? for the storge ?
 
I am pretty sure the 320GB model is a single platter.

I don't know. I would have to conduct several more web searches to get even basic information about the drive. Plus, Western Digital had (and maybe still has) the nasty habit of using the same model number for its older and newer drives. That's why I can't say for certain whether the 320GB drive is a dual-platter or single-platter HDD. (We need the manufacturing year of each HDD to narrow things down even further.)

If you can afford to, I recommend that you buy both drives. Use the WD3200AAKS as your secondary drive for games and other key programs (that you can place onto the SSD) and use the WD5002ABYS as your storage drive. If you have to stick with one drive, however, grab the WD3200AAKS if performance is your priority (though that's the point of having an SSD, wasn't it?) and the WD5002ABYS if you need the storage capacity.
 
Can't you buy something bigger ? Bigger is usually newer and thus faster.
