what external hard dirve?

Hi i am on a lookout for an external hard drive thats reletivly fast and has at least 250gb space.

which is faster and by how much? a usb or a firewire connection on a ext hard drive?

what kinds of things must i look out for on a ext hard drive? i want to be able to transfer large data into it like videos and applications.

Im currently from the UK so any UK related links will be appropriate
 
do you not want to buy an internal and then put an enclosure on it? this may save you a little $
 
Firewire is a tad faster, but they both cap at around 40 MB/s. External sata is much faster, if that's an option.
