What does this wierd message mean?

Ok so II have OCed my 2600+ mobile to about 2.7, but because it was giving me the message that you see below I clocke it down to about 2.4 almost 2.5 in order to play my games. Well I was just wondering what the heck does this mean? The computer runs fine at 2.7 until I begin to play games, thats when this occurs. Now what I think it could be is the CPU getting really hot to a point where it can't take it anymore. Now in the bios I noticed that there is a feature thats called thermal throttling, what is that? And by any chance will this help my problem? Thx

PS: Anyone have a Mobile OCed to about the same speed as well, and running fine?, tell me what cooling your using?, and or if anyone gets the same message?

From my experience, I get that message whenever my memory can't handle the high FSB overclock.

yea that happens to me when i have a high memory overclock on my P4 3.0C. i get it once i get past 250fsb. the only way to prevent that from happening is to turn down your fsb to a more stable speed.

It's a GPF (general protection fault), and the word *alloc* appears over and over again in the error message ('history'). This suggests that during attempts to allocate space on the heap (a section of RAM reserved by the OS for general use), the application writes to sections in memory where it shouldn't be writing. Overclocked RAM might definitely cause this error.

Its not a bootleg copy that is for sure. but I think think that the Ram suggestion is the best help, for I have tha OCed to the max and timming horribly to low, thx guys for the advice very appreciative.

Don't worry about it man its all good. But yeah I have my antivirus on while I playing, I don't turn it off cause I'm really always playing online, and I was the victim of a virus no to long ago, so call me paranoid but I just don't want to go through that again.But yea I have it turned on.You think I could tun it off, and still be ok?

Yeah, I turn mine off all the time when I need the resources. I dont worry about viruses anymore since I reinstall my OS so to speak if anything happens. I used to reinstall windows like at least once a month if anything funny started to happen. And we all know how long it takes to do XP and all the updates and to get all the programs back in that you want. So I started using norton ghost, and just made an image of my os hdd and stored it on my server. Now it only takes 2 minutes to restore my system to exacly what it was after I spent 6 hours doing all the updates and installing all my programs and games. So yeah, I turn it off all the time. Another reason is beacause I'm firewalled through a router. I only turn it on when I am on the internet and have it set up to scan my emails. Other than that, I disable it.

Whenever I get that message, I put more volts into my ram and it solves my problems
