What does this setting actually do? Someone mentioned when they enabled this in bios, their FSB had to be lowered. Is this for synchronous RAM, or is that another setting?

Depends. On my EPoX board, if I set it to 'Optimal,' it boots to the processor default settings. If I set it to 'Aggressive,' it will boot to the overclocked perameters, or whatever I have set up in BIOS.

It gives more memory bandwith in benchmarks such as sandra and in real peroformance. It can lower an overclock though, so watchout.

this is generally true...however someone on this board...i forget who actually lost some performance with it enabled....

Most often then not it´s better to have it enabled and lower the overclock. You still get better performance.
