I'm currently using a Koolance EXOS-Al and my Swiftech H20-APEX kit with dual MCW50s will be arriving next week and I'm wondering how much of a difference I'll see temperature wise.

My system puts out a ton of heat(dual core @ 1.5v, SLI OCed 7800GTXs) and I just don't think my koolance is handling it well enough as my GPUs get up to 60-64C with both cores running under load. So will my cooling upgrade be a minor improvement or fairly noticable? I'll be going from 1/4" hose to 7/16"(1/2")

EDIT: Also the GPU RAM will no longer be watercooled, just the GPU itself with the new block.
 
It is hard to tell how much of a difference you will see. You should see at least a few C difference I guess, but it all depends upon the type of airflow you are getting through the rad. 7/16" tubing is much better suited to a longer loop like you are running. The STORM block should definitely help give that X2 some lovin, and the mcp655 should provide a lot more flow than the Exos-Al two small pumps were providing.

I dont know how the MCW50 compares to the Koolance coolers (im assuming thats what you had). The MCW50 is quite old, but it is a tried and true design that still holds its own to much newer products. Dont worry too much about the RAM not being actively cooled. Get some nice RAMsinks and put those on and you should be fine.

Let us know how your APEX works out for you, and dont discount the Exos, it is a good kit, but may not have been quite suited to your highpowered needs. In general the Exos is quite good at cooling a CPU and GPU.
 
Your GTXs will probably be anywhere from 45-55*C depending on how well you mount both of the blocks, the flow you get in your loop (which should be pretty high), your ambient temperature, etc. You didn't mention what your current temperatures are with your Exos loop, but I would guess somewhere around or below 40*C with your Apex loop. Good luck with your new loop, and of course show some pics and give us your results after you give the AS5 some time to set in :)
 
Mine are running 39C idle and 44c under load (gaming for a good hour). I have my GTX's and two hard drive blocks on the same loop. This is with low flow Aqua Computer blocks so you should see some improvement with high flow.

From reading posts at xtremesystems forum, most people are getting in the low to md 30c with the same GPU blocks you are getting. I would suggest a separate loop for the GTX's, if you can afford the extra pump and radiator.

I suggest passive ram coolers for your ram as it does get hot to the touch idle and pretty damn hot while gaming. You can always put a 120mm fan @ 6volts so it is not heard but cools the ram.
