What could cause this?

I was bored and testing out resolution and refresh rate combos, going from my minimum (800x600) to my maximum res on this 19" CRT (1792x1344 @60HZ) and noticed something strange going up to its max res, whenever I'd maximize or minimize windows the display would lag a bit. On any resolution under its max (even on 60hz) windows would minimize and max in full, there would be no "lag" so to speak. But when I bump it up to that last res, the windows take a split second to fully minimize and maximise. The only accurate example I can give is when you dont have your video drivers installed, but its not NEARLY as bad. Its almost as if the drivers themselves were not optimized for that resolution, and thats the only thing noticeable.

Breakdown: Slight display lag when minimizing/maximizing windows at max resolution. On ANY res other than max, there is no issue.

Any ideas what it could possibly be?

I notice in your sig you are using integrated graphics? That could be why you're having issues with high res..

if you look carefully to his sig.... i think you'll notice it's pretty out of date... A notch above the typewriter lol!!! I'm pretty sure it's not his current rig.

But you are close to what i think might be the problem, what is your video card? It might no be good enough to display up to that rez.

should do it without problem... weird... maybe the monitor max rez is pushed too close/over its limit...
