What comes after WPA2? It's old and from what I have read, not really secure anymore.

WPA2 with a strong key should be more than enough for everything out there.
However if you want added security, just use Radius authentication.

wpa2 is about 10 years old now (i think). what it think OP is referring to is the wps flaw that allows wpa2 keys to be hacked.

Then you read wrong. WPA2 - PSK w/ AES is still perfectly secure provided you do one thing: Turn off the stupid PIN access code thing. (Wifi Protected Setup as trick0502 mentioned)

Probably more often than you think. It's better with a Microsoft AD infrastructure but even without you can get everything up and running on a home router if it supports 3rd party firmware like OpenWRT:
