Weird Windows sound problem

I'm unsure if this is the correct sub forum, but if not please move this thread mod.

I'm trying to learn how to use FL Studio (a music mixing and creation program). When trying to run FL Studio if I open it before I open my firefox browser and press play inside the program it will playback correctly coming through my speakers, the youtube tutorials will play back through realtek digital output only, not "Speakers" and I do not hear the youtube videos.

Now, if I open my browser first the youtube tutorials will work correctly, and FL Studio will start playing back through my hdmi output and I will not hear anything. In sound settings this HDMI output is not selected as the default device, my "Speakers" are. I've tried reinstalling both my sound drivers, and FL Studio. What could be causing this to happen?

Still cannot figure this out, does anyone have any guesses of how to fix this problem?
 
is any of the sound devices set to "allow devices to take exclusive control of this device"if so deselecting this option in sound properties may fix your issue.sounds like one or the other is taking priority of a sound device.
 
Yes, I've unchecked this on all of them though just now and it's still doing the same thing. :( Frustrating...
 
check the options in your fl studio.is it set to use a specific audio device?
 
I just uninstalled my audio drivers, and fl studio w/ asio4all. Restarted, then reinstalled EVERYTHING w/ latest version...it finally works. I was almost ready to bust out the M4 and start shooting my computer. Thank you for your help though pharoah. :)
