I have a 5-Bay Synology NAS.
I have 5 WD drives.
3 x WD SE
2 x WD RE
All drives are 2 TB each, all purchased within last couple months, all were NIB.
All 3 SEs TEMP: 86-88 *F
All 2 REs TEMP: 95-100 *F
I've never seen the RE drop into SE temp, and never the SE into RE temp. Even during the RAID check, HD sector check when setting up the RAID originally. The REs have always been warmer.
Anyone notice this, any idea?
I have my Synology NAS fans on "cool mode" so they're supposed to keep it "COOLER" but it really didn't drop temps at all.
