Hello , i have had my computer now for about a good 8 months and it has run fine until tonight when i was playing call of duty , the game crashed to main menu , then i went back to my desktop too see my download i was downloading failed because it could not wright to the file or something ..... anyway i noticed a little lag so i rebooted and before windows had a chance to load , it said something on the lines of reboot and select a proper boot device from the menu (or something along those lines) i rebooted and its fine as far as i can see right now , happend about 5 minuets ago..... anyone have any idea's?

computer is:

3.0C
1gb kingston ram ddr3200
intel 875PBZLK
ATI all in wonder radeon 9800 pro
antec 1080 case w/ 430w antec truepower power supply
Maxtor 120GB SATA HDD

im thinking mabey my hard drive got too hot and through a temper tantrum....

To me it sounds heat related.....has it only done this playing CoD? or any other graphic intensive games? try removing the side panel and play it for a while then see what happens....I got a Sapphire radeon 9800 pro that overheats with all the settings cranked up so I made a bracket with 2 case fans blowing at it and it has run perfectly since.

if you have an ok cooling set up removing the side isnt a great idea, if you have an air condidtiond room or a house fan you can put there then take off the side, and see what happens, if it is a heat issue you may want to look into adding some fans, or moving the fans you have.

good luck
