Ladies and Gents,
I've been having odd power issues relating to the following rig:
DFI LP nf4 UT
x2 3800 @2.45 stock volts
2x Seagate 80gb Sata Drives
1x Seagate 160GB Sata Drives
BFG 6800GT @ 405/stock
Zalman VF700Cu alternating between 5V and 12V
Audigy2
Corsair HX620
2G OCZ ETC something something
I used to have a PCP&C supply in there, but it was much too loud to go to sleep to.
So I bought the Corsair, but there seems to be some weird power issues.
Firstly, the power led on my case no longer lights up. It did with the pcp&c, and I've checked the connections. Maybe it's just a coincidence though. More significantly, I found that every now and then, the DVI connection from my gfx card to the monitor doesn't seemt to work. Specifically, after certain reboots, my screen says that there is no signal, and the only way to get the signal back is to do a hard turn off, switch off the power, wait, then turn everything back on. Other wise, I have to use the Analog cable which is seriously no fun. I've also noticed that sometimes after turning off the PC completely, the cold start is not that responsive -- I have to wait a few secs before it starts to power on. I actually had a similar problem when I had the PCP&C in, until I removed the PCI wireless card. Now, having removed the Audigy 2 from its PCI slot, it SEEMS things are better (although still no Power on LED).
From what I've read, it might be that I have too much drawing on the 12V rail -- 3 hard disks, the GFX card, mobo, PCI crap, etc. etc. Would this explain my erratic power behaviour?
Thanks
