Weird IDE cable prob

SO I swap out dvd drives...updon reboot no dvd detected, up on another reboot win hangs several times and no internet connection.. I am lost. I try al lsorts of crap. Lat thing I try is new cable... AND ALL IS PERFECT! This is a :wtf: time if any. I am talking nothing changed but a simple cable....and how that would relate to no netage is beyond me. But a swap of cables and all is perfect.....ODD!!!!!

Sounds like a weird coincidence. Just out of curiousity, did you try put that cable back in, and seeing if it happened again?
 
Did you check the cable and see if it had any broken wires or anything?
 
The cable looks perfect to the eye. Now that I am back p and running I have yet to try the old cable...bad cable..bad ;)
