Weird Enermax Liberty problem?

OK, I just got my Enermax Liberty 500 watt, and installed it in my system:
Biostar 6100 Tforce - 939
A64 3200 Venice
eVga 7800GT
two 120g Seagate Hdds
Liteon CD/DVD combo drive
1 gig Crucial pc3200
all crammed in an Aspire X-Qpack.

To escape using the stock psu (which has a 12v rail so sucky that it kills the computer during Quake 4, Doom 3 and Farcry) I installed the Enermax today. But the video never turns on? I triple checked that I put everything in right...everything turns on, all lights, drives etc...but my monitor never comes alive when trying the onboard or the 7800GT. I have tried the pci-e power cable in both the top and bottom slots of the Liberty to no avail, as well as using the cable splitter that came with the 7800GT. I put in the old Aspire psu and all is well, monitor is fine. I put the Enermax in an old 2.8g P4 setup and it works in that, too. What gives? What am I missing?

Did you attach the PCI-E cable to one of the black connector/sockets on the PSU during any of your attempts to get things up and running? If you did, I'm afraid you might have a problem since those connectors aren't pin compatible with PCI-E. Only the red connectors on the PSU should be used with the red PCI-E cable.

Nope, I made sure to note the different plugs. I dunno, I'll play more when I get a breather from work. I just can't be tied to this Aspire psu for long...it's not Scottish, so it's craaaap! :D
