does anyone know of any adaptors that are double sided male ide connector. eg say you wanted to run an ide cable from the mobo to the back of the case, giving you the ability to plug in an ide cable on the outside of you case. this is not what i plan to use it for but i will need something like this. hopefully im making some sort of sense:rolleyes:

Ive never seen an ide cable that wasnt female on all ends. If you're talking about lengthening an ide cable, just buy a longer one. probably 5 bucks at a local pc store.

you want and ide with two ends that can plug into a hd or mobo, so just take a cable and cut off one end and exes cable, 9for a long cable cut off everytying after the slave connctor including the master, for a short length cut off everything b4 the slave connector including the mobo side

no basically im looking for the connection on the mobo. but i want it in the form of extending an ide cable so to speak. say you had a wall, a mobo on 1 side and a hard drive on the other. my intentions would be to plug the drive in to the wall and have the mobo plugged in to the wall as well.

While not exactly what you want, you can buy pins that you could stick in a regular cable to do what you want. I believe I bought mine from all electronics. They come attached in rows so with two sets you could do what you want.
