So a week ago, the drive started gradually crapping out. First, it started with music cutting in and out (my music was on the 1tb wd black). Afterwards, when I would try to access the drive in windows explorer, it would give me the error "Device is inaccessible, I/O Error." I did my best to backup what I could (if I restarted, I would be able to transfer files off of the 1tb black for a few minutes before it went kaput and I would have to restart again). While all of this was happening, there was ~60-80gb free on the drive.
Today, I started deleting files off of it and now have 656gb free on it, and it is working fine. I read that people were having problems with their HDDs when there is <10% free on them so I decided to give it a shot and it worked.
QUESTION: Should I continue on with a RMA? The drive is about 1 year 3 months old. Will WD even replace it since it seems to work fine now?
