Was wondering if anybody here has any of those kinds of products put to good use. I tend to buy stuff with a lot more features/durability than I need (=too expensive :p ), so I wanted to go with something more high-end. I've been looking around, but without any first-hand knowledge or opinions of friends, I figured I'd start asking others what they thought. Seems to me like you can buy PCI cards that allow most kind of external devices, such as existing CCTV camera connections and the like, or go the cheap route and buy a USB webcam with $40 software. I think I'm looking for the former. It'll have to sustain about 4 decent all-weather cams and be pretty fast to keep up with a 1.5mb connection I will utilize.

thanks!

try security and monitoring they have nice stuff coming out soon. they use IP based camera's and then they connect to a server which records the data onto a hard drive.

IMO IP cameras are way better than USB ones simply because of how much futher you can put them.

very nice stuff. check them out.

I found a PCI card that had 4 inputs on the back, they were like yellow phono sockets for video. Anyway the company also sold heaps of different cameras includling weatherproof I think? But theye had this really cool one with infrored LED's round the circumference so when it got dark they came on and since the camera saw infrared it worked in the dark, it was really sweet, ill find the link.
