I have a WD800JB SATA drive which I just finished installing XP on it. When it boots up for the first time after the install it blue screened with the following:
Stop: 0x0000007b.... It says reset it if its the first time it comes up. I reset it and everytime it comes up with that error. When I go to reinstall windows on the part where it asks to create partitions it doesn't recognize my drive ("Windows could not recognize a drive reboot your machine" something like that).
I checked bios and SATA is enabled. I have also done the F6 to install SCSI adapters. It is a Promise SATA/RAID controller built onto my board. It is set as a Raid 1+0 stripe (80gb partitioned as ~40/40. Is there any reason as to why it cannot be recognized after installing it? Am I doing something wrong? This is my first encounter with SATA. Any suggestions ...Thanks!
