I am looking towards purchasing a watercooling kit soon. I am still pretty much a n00b at watercooling, i only know the basics. I was looking at the DangerDen Maze4 setup. Couple questions about it though, will it support and amd 2500+? and how does the cpu block connect to the zif socket? Other then those questions I should be fine :D, if you have any other suggestions, feel free to post.

Yes, the Dangerden Maze4 will support all AMD chips. Just make sure to get the AMD top and mounting kit thats right for you.

There are two ways to get the waterblock to attach to the motherboard.

Does your motherboard have mounting holes around the socket? There should be 4 circulat holes framing the socket area. If it does, get the Maze for block with either the AND lucite top or the AMD copper top (depending on what you want), and a stainless steel mounting kit.

If your mobo does not have mounting holes (only the 3 clip socket) then you have to get the "MAZE4SHD - Socket Hold Down Block" which tighetens down the block to the socket and not the motherboard itself.

Go to http://www.dangerden.com/mall/blocks/maze4.asp to see all the Maze4 options.

Another block you should consider is the Dangerden RBX. It performes much better than the Maze4, but it does need a decent pump to work well.

Yes there are four mounting holes on the motherboard, although, there doesnt seem to be more then a couple millimeters of space between them and my mobo tray. I would think I would need to take my motherboard out to install it then. I dont trust myself with that :) It shouldnt hurt it to just use the MAZE4SHD - Socket Hold Down Block then right? From here http://www.dangerden.com/mall/Kits/kits_AMD.asp could someone tell me all the options that I will need. Thanks :)
 
If you really arent comfortable with removing your motherboard, then the socket hold down tab should be ok. Why the hesitation about removing the mobo? I would hesitate a lot more about putting water in my computer case than removing the motherboard, but thats just me...

As far as the options go, it really depends on what you are looking for in a watercooling system. Are you looking to cool the northbridge chipset and/or your videocard? What kind of temps are you looking to get? What size radiator can you fit in your case? How much are you willing to spend? All these factor into the right kit for you.

For a basic kit, I would suggest the following options:

Maze4 block
Lucite top
1/2'' chrome fittings
BlackIce Xtreme radiator (choose color)
Evercool chrome 120mm fan (or any decent 120mm fan if you can get it cheeper)
Hydor L30 pump
7 feet clearflex tubing
5 1/4 bay-res (if you want a reservoir)
artic silver 5
4oz Zerex
Socket Tab for Maze3 or Maze4
12 hoseclamps

You can add a videoblock and NB block if you want, also the radiator is negociable if you want a bigger one.

Thats a pretty nice kit. Let me know what your thinking is on howmuch and what you want.

Ive got a cheiftec dragon (antec lanboy) so its pretty big. As long as those get me better then my current 40 idle and 52 load im happy. Thanks for showing me what I need. I dont like touch computer componants cause ive had bad history and chances are ill get too much static through it.

Also, will this ram Ultra 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory 2 Pack (1024MB Total) help me in overclocking?
 
Dont buy all your stuff from dangerden, they overcharge on a LOT of things. the setup im about to show you is $10 less than my all-DD bought setup and would perform better than what I have.

Dangerden will cool very well. Kronchev is just suggesting a slightly cheaper and less polished alternative. If you are doing this for the first time, I would really suggest getting eveything from dangerden. Less things to worry about that way.
