Do any of you guys know who can professionally watercool a system? I live in the Los Angeles area and since i voided my warranty, i might as well watercool it.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "who can professionally watercool a system?" to start with.....but why not just build a setup yourself or even pick up a kit from one company like Swiftech, DangerDen, or DTek and go that route? I can understand if you're maybe wary about doing it yourself.....but you have to realise that just because you're not building the water cooling doesn't mean you don't have to be JUST as knowledgable about it.....in order to troubleshoot any hiccups in the system or to at least be self reliant enough with your own computer so that you don't have to go for help or advice anytime something comes up.

I'm sure you could find someone to install it for you if thats what you mean, I mean for the right price, anything is possible, no one is going to guarantee or warrant their work though, there are inherrent risks when mixing water and electronics. If you do get someone to install it for you, you do need to know enough about it to maintain it, (ie ocassionally refill or add coolant). I'm sure for the right price you could even get a local shop to drain overhaul and refill it for you on a regular basis. To many on here, I'm sure that sounds like heresy, some people on here seem to frown on cases with preinstalled windows as too comercial, but I'm strong believer in what ever makes you happy. If you got the bucks and thats the way you want to do it, go for it.

If you don't feel comfortable installing it, then you shouldn't be running it.

that doesn't mean that you can't pay someone to do it -- but don't pay someone unless you're truely confident that you could do it.

For example, I pay someone to wash my car -- I could do it, but it's worth it for me to pay someone. Same situation with my timing belt -- I could change it, but I'll just pay someone to save me the trouble.

Watercooling has the potential to be great, and the potential to fubar a system pretty bad.... Unless you know how to handle it, you shouldn't do it.

Thats exactly what I was going to say....almost to the word. Thx for making it black and white....how it needs to be on a topic like this.

If you pay my airfare, rooming, and expenses, as well as $200/hr + $1000 service charge + parts, I'll professionally watercool your computer.

If you are going to be pouring oodles of money into watercooling an FX-53 and you don't want to install/maintain it yourself, don't risk ruining the system. You probably can't o/c the Alienware. I would just look into better air cooling.

I wouldn't say something rash like he probly can't OC the Alienware.....but it's true that if that much cash is being put into the system already, you owe it to yourself to educate yourself to the point where you COULD just build it yourself....so that you can maintain the system as needed.

I feel for ya just wanting to have water cooling....but look at me. I've sat around here advising people on their decisions and helping them build their h2O setups for a good while now, and I'm finally making the switch myself. Not everyone is going to wait quite THAT long.....but I know that I'm a hell of a lot more comfortable with the installation now then I ever would ahve been normally.

Best way to sum this up that I can think of is:

Don't try and walk the walk if you can't talk the talk.

I don't quite feel comfortable with watercooling because I have cats in the house and the possibility of something going awry horrifies me. It's amazing what COULD go wrong and how much a cat can fuck stuff up

Hell ya, I left my old Ti4200 sitting on my desk for a couple hours while I stepped out of the house, came back......dead Ti4200. :(

i've been meaning to post in the mod section about the stuff we did to my Lian-Li PC1000 this last weekend, but i'm too lazy :p i have a few pics and such too

Good stuff man, PM me some linkies to the pics when you get 'em.

i think something that needs to be asked is whether or not you'll be overclocking, going for mega super silent, or if your just doing it for the sake of it. Judging purely on the fact you paid a mega-inflated price for a puter, and didnt make it yourself, points to the no overclocking side of things. Then again it could have been given to you. Tell us more of your reason, not just 'i want watercooling'.

But overall, if you don't install the watercooling yourself and be willing to maintain it yourself, don't bother with it. Unless of course you sell your puter and buy a Mac G5 which comes with water cooling :p

True, if you want it just to say that you have water cooling but you're not willing to educate yourself enough about it so that you COULD build the setup yourself you really shouldn't have it, as there's no point. If you're not going to be overclocking there's a LOT of options out there for completely silent cooling. You should NOT look at water cooling as such a novelty, as it entails quite a bit of knowhow and practicle knowledge.

If you actually DO want to overclock I'd suggest first doing a LOT of reading on overclocking itself....as its much more involved then water cooling is. I'd still start slow and pick up a high end air cooler to get familiar with your system.....because depending on how your cpu/ram/mobo overclock "together" you might not have much use or need for water cooling.

The thread's been going for a good while now and I have yet to see you (jhego) post back at all, but be sure to fill us in, and consider what I've said.
