Here's what I have for thoughts...

Two 3x120 fan radiators.. black ice stealth... 3 fan in middle.. 3 in front of first rad.
6x120 fans total - 20 db 40cfm

Elbow fittings are the only thing that really worry me as far as restriction of flow.

How do those work? Do you need two of them to work or one stacked and one regular? Do I order 1 set of barbs for one of the rads?
 
You get 1 regular rad and 1 stackable rad. It comes with fittings to connect the two. I'd definitely get them over the black ice stealths, they'll perform better.
 
based on your answer i'm going to assume you haven't bought any rads yet, in this case i'd definatelygo with the Swiftech stackables if you want 6x120mm worth of cooling. That seems like a bit overkill, but then again if you're SLI'd and probably overclocking and this will give you more than enough headroom, or you could possibly run this config with lowspeed fans and keep it very quiet. Honestly, you could probably save yourself some money and stack some 240s.

based on the links specs, you'd have to rethink the way you're routing your tubing into the case. The Swiftech's aren't recommended to be installed upside down as your picture shows. One other suggestion is to get the DDC/Swiftech/Liang pump with a Res top. You could also then use 1/2" tubing, which would probably more beneficial to you loop.

I would like it very quiet - hence the 6 fans.. about 65 per rad isn't bad for 3x120. My 260's pump out a lot of heat.. and I want to OC them with this setup.

I don't understand your routing statement.. nothing is upside down?
I'm lookin at a DDC Pump - 12w i think?

1/2" over 3/8" yields .5-1C difference? I want to work with the hose easier. I had a 1/2" setup 5 years ago... pita to get the tubes to line up.


The box on bottom left of pic is a reservoir for pump priming...
 
I thought you would mount it upside down to minimize tubing length since it appears you were going to route them through towards the bottom of the case.

Ahhh the quest for quiet. I think it really depends on what fans your throw on (most likely some Scythe, Noctua, etc running at aroun 650-800 rpms) If that's your goal then I can understand your mass amount of rad surface area. I'm just thinking that because everything is external you'll be able to hear the fans and the wind noise more. Check out http://www.skinneelabs.com/Radiators/Triples.html for an idea of the fan rpm/performance levels. It's only for the single triple, but it'll give you a ball park
 
I originally wanted just one rad.. but I was reading about cooling two gtx260's OC and a i7 OC would be too much for a triple 120... hence the dual rads... still debating. I know swiftech has the res/radiator combo where it mounts upside down but can't do dual coolers with that...
 
If I go for the 3x120 res swify - no reservoir needed inside case... can't stack them however...
 
Well I thought to myself... why even sandwich rads? Rads in a series should perform better. Also the radbox I have isn't really meant to hold two 3x120 rads...


On to the DIY. I have some wood and a few tools. I made a rad box to go under my PC. Found a template for the fan holes to my radiator. Cut out the side panels and made the box. I also sanded and painted the box solid black, to go under my thermaltake armor plus case.

I figure I can cut a hole in the bottom of my case to run the tubing and power cable through to the box.

Will shoot some pictures after it is up and running. Parts will be here Tuesday.

Well I received everything last night and finally have everything assembled. It took a few hours to put it together. I added a little extra hose from the CPU to the Res and Pump to the Res - I can pull out the reservoir 4 inches for filling.

Leak Test:
One small leak on the upper part of the lower video card - Tieton. Tighten with a C-Wrench Fixed.

Worse leak in radiator box on the left upper barb. The o-ring had become off-center. Turned off pump and loosened enough to get the o-ring corrected and tightening. No leaks for the last 6 hours. Will check it again in 10 hours and I should be able to fire her up.

I should have temp data available to post tonight or tomorrow.

I really tried to get all the cabled tied back as much as I could for a clean look. There are a few amazing videos of a guy named TJ Harlow that does a primo job with his cable management.
 
AAHHHHH! CLEAN YOUR CPU BLOCK! haha. that many finger prints would drive me nuts. the setup looks really nice though. to answer your question about right angle fittings, i think i read that they create about the same restriction as 1 foot of tubing. that is to say, basically none. looks like an efficient, clean setup. looking forward to hearing how it performs. what fans did you end up going with?

Yeah it turned out nice. Had two leaks which really pissed me off but it was my own fault. Didn't check the o-ring on a couple of barbs for seating. I'll wipe her down and do better pics once she is together.

I decided to use no right angle fittings. I probably need to ship them back - at $12 each I might be able to get a third gpu block. :)


The loudest part of the system is the pump. DD / Laing DDC-12V Center Inlet 18 Watt Version 3.2.


Dangerden is definately a good place for the h2o gear... just a bit pricey for items such as the gpu blocks. $240 for two vga blocks for gtx260, plus 30 for the memory backplate.
 
i might be willing to buy some of those right angle fittings off you if theyre rotary fittings. :D
