I can't seem to find any factory watercooled 7970's. I don't mind putting on a heat sink myself... but I am not sure why there are none in stock (or WC 7990s) if the 8000 series won't be out till Q4.

Am I right? 8xxx in Q4?

Also what is the best site for watercooling? Frozencpu? This will be my first watercooled rig.

Thanks for any input!

Pre installed water blocks are a super niche market. Most aftermarket GPU blocks are easy to put on.

yeah install your own block.

frozen cpu is great.

also check out the manufactures websites.

The only one I can see is the power color LCS HD7970. The few places I looked said unavailable though.

Water cooling requires additional maintenance when compared to open air, so if you're unwilling to put the block on yourself then you may be in for a rude awakening come time to set the rest of your loop up (unless that Power Color comes with complimentary white glove installation :p).

Also, your max OC will be determined more by how well you did in the card lottery more than it will heat, so I suggest finding a card that does well OA then put it under water afterwards.

I'd suggest you go to the watercooling section and research what you need for cooling.
AMD partners generally do not tend to supply preinstalled blocks, unless you look at the really exotic ASUS GPUs that are crazy expensive.

The GPU block is just the tip of the iceberg.
For just the GPU you'd need the minimum as follows:
pump, radiator (probably a 120 x 2), block and reservoir and/or reservoir top for your pump.
then tubes, fittings and other miscellaneous bits.

I'd recommend sidewindercomputers.com......you'll find the best prices all around and quick, cheap shipping.
The guy doesn't have the largest inventory, but all the stuff is top notch.

I generally look there first, then frozencpu and last performance-pcs. Performance has the largest inventory, but their shipping is deadly expensive. For me frozen is the quickest, but they are in NY so I pay taxes, that and frozen is by far the most expensive for the same items.

Sometimes jab-tech will have what you seek for low prices, but their inventory is pretty bleek.

I second sidewinder, great service and prices.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I'll have to check out sidewinder.
