I just ordered the Waterchill Xternal Kit. Should be here on Monday. I'll report back with some performance numbers compared to my XP-90.
 
So the Xternal arrived yesterday and I got it installed last night. Very nice kit. Everything was neatly packed. Directions werent great, but adequete I guess. Got everything installed, filled up the res and turned it on. Niagara Falls was in my case. LOL. Its a good thing everything else was unplugged and had no power. Had a hose that wasnt pushed all the way in the CPU block. Fired it back up. No leaks. Oh and anyone wondering if the Antartica CPU block fits the new Gigabyte boards (the DQ6), it does. Asetek has cut out some of the block so it just barely clears the caps on the one side of the board. Anyway, I am halfway through the 24 hour leak test, plus I think I will give it an extra day to dry out considering all the water that went everywhere the first time I turned it on. I'll post some pics when its all operational.
 
cool cant wait. If you dont me asking how much did the whole set cost you, and did you add the vid card to the loop?
 
I got it from Frozen CPU for 349. I have the VGA block in the loop, yes. I am not using the chipset block as the DQ6 has heatpipes on the chipset.
 
not a bad price IMO. I just searched around and read some reviews and must say I would spend my money on this over the Exos kit now. I have means to do a custom h2o setup but dont have the time to do it, so this may be in my future.
 
I wanted something external because my case just doesnt have the space, but I also wanted something that used pretty standard gear inside. And I thought the price was pretty decent too.
 
That looks VERY nice. Report back with temps as soon as you can. :)
 
I did some quick tests last night. Overclocked at 4.1ghz at 50% percent fan speed.

Idle 26c
Load (Prime95 Torture Test) 43c

Thats about a 5c drop at idle and 11c drop at load compared to the XP-90. I'll do some quick tests tonight without overclocking and more extensive tests this weekend including some vid cards temps.
 
thinking a little ahead, how do I go about draining the loop? Would I unplug the hose going into the res, run the pump and let it pump most of the water out?

anyways it looks very good, very clean and nice looking. i noticed there is a sleaved cable coming through the same thing as your hoses, are those temp senesors and power,a nd did you sleave them yourself?
 
Yep thats the flow.

Actually the cable came sleeved like that. Its power only. The sensors are over a USB cable.
