I have the following:

E8400
ASUS PK5-E
XFX 8600 GT

in a Lian Li v2000

I have the money to watercool but as far as the CPU is concerned I'm unsure if I should keep it on air of just blow the money and watercool the system

what would you do?

in a case with that much space its a complete cocktease just to air cool it....

hose that bitch LOL:D

really up to you. high-end air ~100 bucks. cheap water~100 bucks. i've got a q6600 in the same board cooled by a zalman 9700 that did 3.4ghz without voltage increases before i backed it down to 3ghz.

I'm thinking the GPU doesn't need the hose but I'd like to do the CPU and the GPU possibly down the road when I get an 8800 or better

Get something as simple as a DuOrb or Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 on the GPU.

As for the CPU, you'll probably do a nice 24/7 of 4.5ghz on water, maybe 4ghz on air. So its up to you. I went water because its an investment that will keep almost any CPU cool for the next 5 years with small upgrades

well here's what I was thinking

CPU Block: EK Supreme or Swiftech GTX with copper top

Pump: Alphacool Laing DDC pump with a derlin top

Rad: Swiftech MCR220

Tubing: clearflex or tygon

Fluid XP Liquid

Dont go with GTX.... go with Supreme or D-Tek Fuzion with nozzle kit, from what I understand the Supreme is really good with multi loops so you may be better off with just the Fuzion and nozzle kit.

Pump is a good choice

Rad is a good choice if your looking to save money, but if ya want better then look into the Thermochill PA120.2

Tubing I would go with Tygon 3603 @ 7/16" ID 5/8" OD on 1/2" barbs (boil the ends and then slip them on the barbs for a water tight seal.)

Fluid XP is crap, only use it if ya want a waxy buildup in your lines... I would go with Feser One, its getting good writeups.

The EK is awesome and the D-Tek fuzion is a favourite amongst water coolers.

The MCR-220 is a rad meant for low noise operation so low CFM fans are best for it. If you want the most performance go Black Ice GTX with High CFM fans, or a Black Ice GT Stealth with medium (70+CFM) fans.

Is this the pump you're talking about?

You'd be better off with a D5 or something like that, triple the waterflow (317gallon per hour compared to 111 gallon per hour)

Clearflex or masterclear tubing are just as good as tygon, tygon is way overpriced.

Fluid XP is good stuff too.

Lookin good!

looks perfect but dump the fluid xp and use distilled water with uv dye unless you're adamant of just buying it premixed.. reason i say that is because after a few weeks it leaves gunky stuff in the loop / res. but whatever its up to you :D

im actually having good results with the alphacool / feser one liquid in one of the rigs here i recommend that if ur buying premixed.

Well I already have the the pump.... yes it's the one thats listed on sharka.... I have had a d5 crack on me I will not use a pump like that again fixed fittings FTL.....

as far as cost I got about 225 to play with minus the pump so the thermalchill is outta the question...

they look like a alphacool/aqua pc rad to me
