Hey I'm trying to finish my WC set up.

I got a P182SE, then bought black side panels and door cover, gives it that super sleek all black look.

My question is, I bought a shroud, under the assumption of how it works, but now that I have it I think I'm mildly confused in its operation

I have a very poor diagram to help, because sometimes my explanations of things aren't the best, but here goes.

I have the shroud so that it sits on the outside of the rear fan, about 2 1/4 inches, then my fan, followed by the dual 120 rad. Is this how it is supposed to be? I don't have a picture of it, but here is a picture of my awful diagram

Actually would probably be a little better to have the shroud between the fan and rad as that will eliminate any dead spots at the center of the fan. But even this would be minimal. Ultimately, do what works best for you.
 
i wasn't sure, that was the other set up i was playing with, i was just so unsure, of how it was supposed to be set up.

Its just a pain to build it, test it, and get the temps, then try the other set up and check.

I was just curious if there was a "right" way of doing it.
 
The way I mentioned it is the "Correct" or should I say PC way of doing it. However, when it comes to modding and being [H] there is no absolute correct way of doing it.

Anyways, I myself, would also remove the fan on the inside of the case. Just makes little sense to me, to have both of them pushing out, as the one on the outside will pull the same whether there is another fan trying to push air out when they are that close together. If you really wanted to, you could put a fan on the outside of the rad which would help more imho.

In the end, there is nothing wrong with being unsure or asking questions. Just make sure that whatever you end up doing, you enjoyed doing it!

Is the "correct" orientation. The shroud (magenta) should provide space between the Radiator (gray) and the fan (black)...

I guess instead of correct, i should have used the word, useful.

But there is no inside fan, that was just a chopped up stock fan.

It doesn't matter which was it faces does it?
Its doesn't matter if its sucking air through the rad, or pushing it through it.
