Hi.
I just setup water cooling on my c2d e6300/abit aw9d-max northbridge. I'm currently running a core clock speed of 405, which gives me 2835mhz and ddr2 810 speeds. At those settings, my idle temp is 38C, and full 3hr load is 41-42C.... with my case's window off. Then, i put the window back on, and the temps went up to about 47C under full load, which is still acceptable, but it certainly does hinder me from overclocking anymore than what i'm at now.
I have my single 120mm radiator mounted on the back outside of my case, with a fan on both sides. my case is a midtower, specifically it's the Thermaltake Matrix VX.
I think the biggest culprit in my heatup is the 8800gts. that sucker can really put off some heat, even at 100% fan speed.
So, here's what i was thinking about doing. I want to try and reverse the flow of my case, making the back end the intake and the front end the exhaust. With a total of 3 120mm fans total on the case, i'm not sure what the result would be. So, if any of you have any reccomendations on whether or not reversing the flow is a bad/good idea, or if you have any other reccomendations on how to bing my temp back down, it will be much appreciated.
thank you for your time.
