Water Cooling Help

I'm planning on finally moving on with water cooling after years of playing it on the safe side with air cooling.
I've read a lot of guides and information about water cooling but i may still come in short my knowledge on today's water cooling parts. I've decided to not go with the pre-built water cooling kit as i heard they arent as good as the ones you put together.
I'll only be cooling my q6600 for now.
Can someone fill me in with the best bang for the buck set up i can get and the approximate cost of the whole thing?
I don't want everything maxed out if it's only going to give me a few increase in perfomance.

The following will give you the best overall loop with expansion in the future. The items are adjustable but make sure you get a good cpu block.

Radiator:
Black Ice GTX240 - $90.95

Pump:

Block (this is more of your preference, all these blocks are top notch)
D-Tek Fusion v2

Danger Den Fillport Reservoir (easiest to fill and drain)

Tubing is up to you, Tygon 3603 or Masketeer are good brands get about 5-10 feet of this on your first build so you can have some play in what you want to do.

Fluids, just distilled water you can get at a grocery store. Don't waste your money on them online. If anything get some dyes if you really want it and anti algae stuff.

Stay completely copper in your loop.. no aluminum.

The post above has some good stuff, but on the expensive side.

If you don't want to buy individual pieces, petras has awesome "kits"
Generally you should stay away from kits, but these are quality parts

Really? Reigns supreme? To each his own, but in my opinion, the T-Tek Fuzion v2 is hard to beat. The EK's flow drop really requires a strong pump. If you were running this strictly CPU and then run the GPU on a separate loop, sure the EK looks great, but most folks run with a single loop to handle both jobs.
