Hey, just entered the Water cooling arena and i wanted to know what to do :D

i know... i'm hopeless!

Was thinking of getting an amd 3500 and i already have a 6800 GT (i'm gunna put that in my next rig)...

I've heard of Dangerden from a friend and wanted to go there... but that site is worthless (in terms of information, i can't find ANYTHING out about the equiptment, but besides that, all the products look great) so i came here :D

i was also looking on Newegg (i'm a newegg junkie :D ) and i found this - http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-124-005&depa=0

i'm going to build a pc and i was wondering if i should get that with it... suggestions PLEASE!

oops.... didn't see that watercooling section.... sorry for having this here....

now how do i move it....

I have used that Kingwin set-up at work. To call it a piece of "insert expletive" would be an understatement. If you are really in the market for a kit, I suggest you look at DD, Swiftech, Koolance, or others instead. I think the [H] has linked several kit reviews recently, if I can find some I will post them.

cool... thanks, i'll try and get my friend to explain some of the stuff on Danger Den... since... that's what he has and it works, plus they have that AWESOME (and quite expensive) 6800 water block.

ah... i see the thread was moved... cool :D

The places to look for kits or putting together your own kits are:
Dangerden.com
Swiftnets.com
Dtekcustoms.com
Frozencpu.com

There are a bunch of others but those listed cover a lot of it. Feel free to add any personal favorites for our new-to-water friend here to check out.

Read the forums, do a lot of research and especially look at all of the "rate my setup" type posts with lists of the componenets people are looking at buying. There are a lot of them here.

You should read this a couple times.

Then read everything you can find on the web for a couple weeks, then go here because of information like this and this and you should be able to weed out the bs from most of the sites that you find.

hey T...AquaComputer, not to diss them at all, is a german company...so shipping is out the wazoo....if you need help picking stuff out, just IM me as usual  :p

and trust me...this is not trying to be mean, but i think ur sig is too long....its like 10 lines or something and i'm in 1024x768....ah...who knows, just hope its not too long

but yeah, ask me (and the rest of us here) about watercooling parts/setup/etc., we're here to help! and all those links posted are very good...and its about time u listened to me about overclocking...sheesh....it took an article from procooling.com to get you into it ....anyway, good luck!

oh, and i just thought about this...probly the only kits you want would be a Koolance Exos systems, because all the others...well....you see what i mean

but going to places like dangerden and dtek and rooting out custom kits is how you learn, and it works...try it....just configure something, post it here, and we help....ITS THAT EASY.....FOR ONLY 3 EASY PAYMENTS OF $99.99...jkjk :p

so yeah, there are some "enthusiast" stores that sell cool stuff, as posted above, but if u need the critical, necessary stuff, check out aquacomputer (they only carry 3/8"), dangerden, dtekcustoms, etc.

dangit... i knew i should have picked a different username... u still managed to stalk me :D
anyway.. thanks for all the help.. i'm gunna go check out the different links you peoples gave me... thanx

its kinda hard for me not to find ur post, when a) you told me ur username, and b) u use that name for everything...

haha, so yeah, LMK!

just in case anybody is actually reading this thread (i kinda killed it)

i just got a new computer with an FX-55 and a 6800 Ultra...

good cooling ideas for that?

Ln2?

lol, jkjk, uhh....i'm still gonna say watercooling, unless (again, sorry cornelious) the guy doesn't take it back...in that case, i'm assuming the cash is low, so get a high-end air cooler....but h20 is my first suggestion

no, the guy is going to send me a replacement: motherboard and possibly a replacement video card (since mine is bent like an @$$monger...)

so he did email you back? and he said he would replace it?

if yes, awesome

if no, that sucks

elseif....jkjk (visual basic :p)

ANYWAY...if you have the cash, WCing is the way to be...and of course you know i could help you with that....but a high-end air cooler would be option two....

u know, with all this back and forth, there is AIM...which i'm talking to you on

would air cool as well as water...

well... no... obviously, but would the difference be "noticable" ?

yes... my spelling sux

yes... my spelling sux

let's put it this way...air has a lower thermal capacity than water...therefore, water can retain more heat

english translation:

water >>>>>>> air

as in, 20*C versus 50*C

The key to the DangerDen site is to find a block you like, and then do a google search for a review of it (or just click the "Reviews" section of the Dangerden site).

Additionally, cooltechnica.com has been good.

For performance, you may want to check into the DangerDen RBX.

eh, i'd hafta say get the TDX...its MUCH less of a hassle than the three-barbed RBX (or whitewater, almost the same thing...)
