Water Cooling Article

That's because AC didn't give him the 20k he wanted for mentions in the arcticle ~

I don't think it's $20K...more like $6-10K for a good review and a linky.

Naturally!

I think you all are giving Toms Hardware too much credit. Thousands for a favorable review . There are many parts / manufacturers that weren't mentioned and it has nothing to do with bribes or payoffs.

I think it also has to do with the fact that they participate in "regional news and advertising." That article was obviously intended for the USA. If they reported that in Europe no one would have probably bothered reading it.

They still should have mentioned AC, as it is a viable solution. I mean, there is a lovely thing called international shipping.

A guide not worth looking at unless you are retarded and lack common sense. I also agree AC is well worth mentioning, unlike this guide which was written in a closed minded fashion.

I haven't looked at THG for several years now as it is bunk IMHO.

I read the article, and having not fancied WC'ing a system before, I already knew everything it had to say...

Oh, TN, if anything it bunk, it's MaxPC's watercooling article... You'd get a kick out of it. It's pretty bad.

THG is the epitome of selling there, there's more ad on their page then actual contents.

Oh stop whining that he didn't mention AC... oh noes he didn't mention Little River (which makes the best performing blocks period) every body start flaming toms!!!

The article was not meant to be a comprehensive review of every single thing you can use to watercool...hence the 101 moniker. Also, it does seem to be targetted at the US, and imo one distributor in the continental united states does not make AC a very readily available solution, and international shipping is pointless as if you ordered a single block the shipping would cost as much as the block.

The article does what it sets out to do very well...and that is to inform people of the ease of watercooling and how far it has progressed since a few years ago.

I just browsed the review/guide. I noted that it was called "101" which (if I remember anything from college) means it's targeted to beginner's or is an introduction.

While AC gear is no more difficult to install than DD most people making the leap to water are not going to drop the money needed to buy AC/Innova/etc kit until they get hooked.

Overall, as a 101 guide, I'd say it was very well done. They mentioned buying parts from resellers, they mentioned using a Bonne radiator core, etc. They explain the basic principles needed to construct a watercooling loop...

Hell, they also didn't mention Cathar's blocks. They didn't go into peliter cooling. They didn't even go into geo-thermal cooling. Where's the mention of evaporative cooling solutions? C'mon people.
