water chilling question

I am interested in getting a aquarium waterchiller and running it in my water cooling loop. i am looking at the Via Aqua Cool Chiller. I was wondering, if i keep my temps so they are at ambient or a bit below and not near freezing, do i still need to take all condensation precautions? Also, can i control what temp i want the chiller to keep the water?

thanks

how much you have to worry about condensation depends on the humidity of the room. how humid is it? before i moved the plants out of my room, even the temp difference between the inside of my room and the outside, with the window open, was enough to allow condensation to form on the window, and that was probably only a difference of 5C. now that i don't have the plants and humidity, that is no longer an issue.

the chillers that i have looked at allow you to set the temperature, limited to what is within the ability of the chiller to achieve. you should probably make sure to have a pretty large res, so that the chiller is not switching on and off as frequently.

im going to be in a basement, and no plants, so ambient will be relatively cool and it will not be humid.

so do i have to have a res or is it just recommended?
also, would a radiator be necessary then?
thanks

i don't think that you need a rad with the chiller that you are putting up. assuming that i am reading this right, it is a 240 watt chiller, which exceeds you computer's heat output by a fair bit.

the large res is intended to allow the chiller to cycle on and off, instead of opperating continiously, thus extending it's life.

i really don't see the point of dropping that kind of money if you are only planning on going a few degrees below ambient.

"Note: Titan 150 is designed for smaller tanks and can not drop aquarium below room temperature. It is a thermal-electronic unit that does not contain a compressor or coolant"

If you're not going below room temperature, condensation wouldn't even be an issue.

ohok, i get that now, but does anyone have any ideas on keeping temps at room temp, load and idle?
-what i mean is that if i set my chiller to keep the water at a certain temp, will it keep it at that temp or very close to it at load?
-with my wcing setup right now i get 35C idle and 40-41c load.
