Why do most people have their eye candy set at 4X AA and 16X ANISO instead of 6X AA and 16X ANISO?
 
The difference between 4xAA and 6xAA visually (especially at 1280/1600 resolutions) is pretty much null, so they prefer the few extra frames.
 
Also worth mentioning that Nvidia cards don't support 6xRGMS AA, instead they support 4xRGMS AA & 8xS (4xRGMS + 1x2 supersampling). 4x is good enough at 1280+, and 8xS is good for games with lots of aliased textures like Call of Duty for instance. However 8xS is very taxing on the card, so most end up using 4x on NV cards and use 8xS on older games or on games with lots of aliased textures. For instance I feel that Call of Duty looks better at 1280x1024 with 8xS than it does at 1600x1200 with 4x or 6x, since the latter two AA modes can't help the aliased textures.
