If I had not already grabbed a 47" LCD I might have considered this. From everything I have read the projector is quite stunning in a room with good light control.

I just bought a 42" LCD 1080p panel, but this would've been sweet if I had the money for it. My panel was considerably less :-\

The key is having good light control. Because of the nature of front projection, FP screens reflect light very well and any ambient light will really be noticeable. I have a 14'x28' room with a 119" screen and an older Sony HS51 projector. I can use a lamp from 20' away with a 25watt lightbulb. Anything more than that causes serious picture washout.

However, I love my setup so much, I use it as my primary TV setup. My picture-in-picture is larger than a 42" screen! There is nothing like HDTV at 100" or larger. Not to mention, I've yet to see a better image from an LCD display.

Great deal for someone looking for a 1080p projector at a good price. It got pretty good reviews as well.
Pretty good reviews? You're being modest :p.

This thing imho probably qualifies as one of the best projector buys at this pricepoint!

Hoping you'll post a mini-review over in the htpc forum, after you've tinkered with it for awhile of course. Can't wait till it's upgrade time for me :) (Sanyo Z2 here)
