Want Quiet This Time!

Since there is no "case" sub-forum just modding I'll ask here. The bast 4 PC's i've built have always landed up being wind tunnels. This time I want it to END. I'll take a bit of low frequency fan noise but know woosh or high pitched whine. I'm looking for a stock liquid cooled case that can support both CPU and Video Card. I've seen some that have the PSU in the bottom and the MB on top (I like those, makes sense thermally). I do not need phase change...just a simple liquid cooler.

Try and keep the price reasonable since I really don't know how "high" these things can go. Estimated hardware to go into it will be a A634 3200 or higher, and a X800XL running at stock speeds. Thanks in advance.

If you're not going to go overboard overclocking why not just do something similar to what I did? I've got my A64 3200+ running at 2.4GHz...

- XP-90 with M1A medium speed Panaflow fan (I didn't need the H1A)
- 4 80mm Cooler Master fans that came with the Praetorian case I have. I connected them to a fan controller and run them at 9-10 volts.
- Arctic Cooler on my 9800pro. (quiet and exhausting hot air from GPU outside case)
- PCP&C 410W Silencer

With just that simple stuff I am still able to overclock both my CPU to 2.4GHz and video card to XT speeds. My system temps are very stable, as is my system overall.

It's VERY quiet. I would say that it's only slightly louder than the newer HP xw4100 machines we have at work, and they've only got 1 fan in the back plus the CPU fan.

I tried going the watercooling route, but I found it too much of a hassle since I don't overclock that much anymore. Just buy a Zalman CNPS-7700 or 7000 heatsink. It's very quiet if you set it to the slowest setting. Replace the fan on your videocard. I had a Zalman heatpipe on my videocard, but switched to an ArcticCooler since it made better contact with the gpu. It's very quiet even though it has a moving fan. I use Panaflo L1A for my case fans. The only annoying fan that I can hear is the 40mm one that's on a usb hd enclosure that I'm using. If that's turned off my pc is near silent.

Thankyou....that makes me quite happy to hear their are still good "on air" solutions.
