Has anyone come across this? I have a Linksys switch setup using VLANS for pfSense, wireless AP, etc. I create a new VLAN on the switch and configure the ports as well as configure the new VLAN on pfSense and re-assign the interfaces. I then move the cable modem from the WAN port of the pfSense to the correct port on the switch and the WAN connection works for a few seconds and then completely stops working.

A few years ago I tried a similar setup with the same or similar switch and had the same results. The only difference was that I was not using VLAN tagging

Why are you moving the cable modem?

So you want VLAN's on your network for the AP?

I resolved this by changing the switch port the cable modem is connected to from mode access to mode general.

The AP is currently already setup with VLANs + multiple BSSID. I want to P2V the pfSense.
