First off, many thanks to seven9st surfer over at OCN I saw his wallmounts and wanted the same! and used a similiar system

So I jumped to eyefinity a few months ago and have been pretty stoked.

As you can see no deskspace, looks like poo, etc, so I decided to wall mount them up. but I wanted something cheap and easy...

1/2" poplar. this will be the part attaching to monitor, and then go in a track that is mounted to the wall

and attached to the back

countersunk all the screws so they wouldnt obstruct the channel

attached fabric to the back of the track, so it wouldnt take all the paint off the walls

Could have gone better but overall im pretty pleased
Im going to be putting a small shelf back up to put my pc back up above the monitors, instead of under my desk
Because of the size of the monitors and their distance away this flat panel actually feels convex, not the concave desired by eyefinity. So Im planning on angling the out displays in a bit. and I would also like to remove the bezels, anyone got any helpful info on that?
and of course when im done ill hide the wires completely
and its super nice having (6) usb ports right on my desk!

nice job! i like how they're all portrait as well. awesome for browsing/coding/writing/reading

I have to say, while a nice project and looks good, why eyefinity 3 screens in portrait, instead of just getting a large 30" screen or so?

haha and gaming! and yeah sufu I would have preferred a u3011 but for $1200+ easy and CA tax and bullshit it wasnt really worth it.

I traded my aw2310 for a u2311h + $100, and got the other two on the $200 deal. Im pretty happy with it for now, but would love to drop the bezel crap for for a huge single display when the cost catches up. and no ghosting issues this way!

Because 3240x1920 is bigger then 2560x1600. I'm also interested in how to take off the cases, I would assume it's the same process as taking off the 2407 case.

This kind of shows how to do it, I would be careful around the button though.

edit: I also see you flipped the portrait config in the second set of pics, is it the same picture wise?

Probably late, but do you have some more pics of you mounting the monitors to the keys via the vesa mounts. I have been using a Chief monitor arm for 4 of my 5 2408s want to look into a similar solution once I get into my new house.

I also have taken the plastic bezels off of the monitors which are mounted to the Chief. Its a slight improvement if only to not have the silver and black bezels between the screens. Anyway. More shots and description of the mounting process!

doesnt look like taking off the bezels would allow me to get the screens any closer.. i guess ill have to try it on one of them and see for myself, if only I could but little 100x1920 LCD filler strips..

I dont notice any difference, and I dont see why there would be, only reason I did so was to have the usb ports on the bottom

by keys you mean the block that attaches to the monitor that drops in the track? i dont have any more pics but I can try to explain it a little better, im just not sure if we are on the same page

It would for sure, there would be less bezel between the two, not a whole lot less but enough to make a better experience.

Yes. How are the U shaped wooden blocks attached to the back of the monitors. I know there are mounting holes, but what screws did you have to use and how did you go about mounting them. Do all Vesa mounting holes have a specific machine screw size I guess is what I am getting at?

Thanks!

This is the piece that attaches to the monitor, in this picture its just glued, but I sunk two screws into it as well
15pikrc.jpg

the u2311h has a dimple where the stands attach, So I had to make my blocks fit in there, but on any other monitor you could do whatever size you want

So I popped the blocks in, bottom screws are simply wood screws helping hold the wood together, but I also drilled through them to attach to my top (2) vesa mounts on my monitor. So the upper two bolts are the ones attaching the block to the monitor, and they help hold the block together

I wont go as far to say every vesa is the same thread.
But my monitors were, and I think most are, M4 .7pitch, Im using 55mm bolts, atm though I will be replacing with some longer ones to try to get the most out of the super long tap on the 2311h

well after some poking around and a few attempts at trying to get this bezel off, I think it may be impossible. Anyone have any better information on u2311 bezel removal
