W2K setup won't recognise my RAID 0 array

I have configured a RAID0 array through my Abit NF7-S2 mobo. On boot I get the RAID config opions, add the drives, choose array type and it reports as healthy. Boot option = yes.

Now I try and install w2k (no service packs), use the F6 prompt and give load the RAID drivers when prompted Then setup tells me I have the remains of an old OS and insists I clear it before proceeding. I do so but when I get to the partition/format stage prior to copying files there is no RAID array as expected, but two separate drives.

I have used an identical setup with XP which recognised the array with the ame drivers then isntalled OK. Is this a known W2K setp problem? Is here any fix?
