Hi all,

I currently have an older CRT hooked up as my primary display, and a Viewsonic VX922 (4:3) as a secondary monitor. I would like to purchase a VX2025wm locally and put it as my primary display as the CRT has been giving me fits for about 6 months, very finicky and about ready to go out.

What preparation do I have to do to replace the CRT, as from some reading I've done it is not as simple as plug and play, or is it?

My video card is a GeForce 6600, is that a problem?

Anything else I should be concerned about? Thanks for any info :)

Just wanted to bump this thread, my old CRT would barely come up today :) Hoping to get a good deal at CompUSA, they have them at 299.99 after a 50 mail-in rebate...

Suprised no one replied to this...

You shouldn't have any issues replacing the CRT with the VX2025WM. Just plug and play...

Make sure you use the DVI connection for optimal picture quality. (Assuming your 6600 has a DVI port)

Once you boot into Windows with the new monitor attached it should be detected by Windows XP after a moment or two, and then you should be able to go into the nVidia control panel and change your resolution to 1680x1050 (the VX2025WM's native resolution).

Thanks Blue, very helpful information... looks like I'm outta luck on Compusa though, they've sold out locally, so got a comparable deal from Newegg :)

Bump =p

I have a BFG 6600 GT OC AGP.......I was thinking of getting this monitor also. Can I run a game at 1280x1024 or 1024x768 using its native resolution? Like black bars on the sides so it still displays optimal quality.
