You may very well have problems with it. Mine has been broken for well over a month as I work with Viewsonic. If you decide to buy it, know that you could end up with a toasted DVI port, and a huge hassle on your hands. Just getting them to send me a replacement has been a near-impossible task. I'm giving them another call today, in fact.
And no, not only has the DVI issue not been fixed, it's completely ignored by Viewsonic as a widespread problem.
The "DVI Issue" won't affect you if you're using an ATI card.
The issue causing the monitors go to into an infinate 'sleep mode' when connected via the DVI port is caused by a combination of things:
1. Certain nVidia cards along with a certain combination of older drivers.
2. The Viewsonic is one of a few monitors which don't have the write protect bit in the EDID information set.
Those nvidia cards and drivers are corrupting the EDID information in the monitor when it is connected to the card via DVI - consequently causing the monitor to revert to suspend mode.
If you are affected by this issue you should:
A. Try the DVI_Recover tool that has been posted on several sites. When used properly it will reset the EDID information to a working state and flip the write protect bit so that it cannot become corrupt again. It was originally meant for use with Dell LCDs affected by this same problem, but it actually works for several different monitors.
B. Contact Viewsonic and get the unit replaced or follow their advice.
This isn't really Viewsonic's fault, in fact you should probably blame nvidia. The issue affects any monitor with the EDID information in a rewirteable state. There are other monitors that have been affected in this same way.
this isn't always true. the quality control on the 2025's seem questionable. i bought one of the 2 they had at office depot and the first was a crapper. dvi didn't work with ANY video card. vga was fine.
2nd worked fine.
my suggestion is that you find a shop that sells the 2025 and has a no restock fee (locally also) and just buy it, swap it and return. there's no reason for you to keep faulty equipment that the mfg refuses to fix.
I'm sorry, Blue Falcon, but your info is incorrect. As I've said in other threads here, the problem arises regardless of your videocard brand. I've seen plenty of cases online, both here and on other sites, where X800x, X1800, and X1900 cards have all done the same thing. Unfortunately for ATi users, however, the DVI_Recover tool only works on nVidia systems.
In any case, it really is a great monitor outside of the DVI problem. It's big and beautiful, and extremely crisp even on VGA. I can't honestly recommend anyone buy the monitor after going through all of these problems. If I were you (rather, if I had the ability to do it all again), I'd probably get this instead (though I'd probably look for a different online retailer):
It's the same panel as the VX2025wm, but made (obviously) by Acer. I recommend you look around a bit, or perhaps wait until new tech comes out later this year. Or, heck, take a chance on the VX2025wm. Who knows; maybe you won't have any problems.
Good luck.

Congrats, though mine didn't die until about a month in. I'm not saying it's guaranteed, but don't be surprised if your DVI port suddenly stops working down the road.
