Zallek said:Ok, I havent tried my tweaks on nVidia cards, but I doubt it will be any different.. Turn on CSS, go into the console, and type mat_specular 0 and mat_bumpmap 0, everyone that I tell to use those commands in game dont even notice a difference in IQ, but they gain 25-35FPS just from those 2 commands. Please try them and give me feedback, as I would like to know if this is as good as I, and some others, say it is.

on a crt you don't need vsync. monitor doesn't have to wait for images to catch up...

datamage said:Sure it does. I get plenty tearing when I disable vsync on my CRT.

miguelwolff said:Is it dropping your FPS to 30?? I'm not an expert on this but it seems to me your Refresh Rate is 60, therefore it will lock your FPS to 30 at slowdowns. If you use refresh force and force your display to 85 it will lock your FPS to 42 at slowdowns. I think that could help sometimes, otherwise turn Vsynch off like everybody does![]()
