Hey guys i just installed an ek full cover block on my msi 7950 with a backplate and my vrm temps are around the same as with stock cooler. Temps hover around 65c which i know is fine and dandy, but shouldn't i have seem some sort of drop? Was wondering if a remount might help? Core temps haven't broke 40c under load.
 
u sure u mounted ok ? its should drop temps a lot compared to stock specially being a full cover
 
Temps on the core are great just the vrms get warm but still not even close to dangerous.
 
The vrm's should measure around the same temp, even after a full cover block is installed. Only worry about the core temp if it did not drop.
 
I think a lot of blocks don't really cool the VRMs near as much as the GPU itself
 
It doesn't look like the water goes over them which is kind of a dissapointment. I could have saved some money and just went with a core only block.
 
as long as their temps are in control you are good, it is true I believe though that a lot of the hybrid solutions are actually better at this, particularly with a fan
