I'm still trying to figure out whats wrong with my comp and games. I thinking that it might be the temperature of the VPU. I got the ATi tool monitoring it and its at 47c right now idle. This is after I put on some Arctic 5. Whats the a temperature safe zone? I'm already planning on ordering a Arctic cooling 5 rev.2 or whatever it is for my x800xl. BF2 locks up after a while in game, sometimes before I get in game and I just bought Joint Operations and it started locking up on me too. Any ideas?
 
Now when I try and join a server it just goes back to the server browser without giving me a reason.. So glad I wasted 800 dollars on this piece of shit game.
 
Temps are fine. Formatting ftw.

On another note, BF2 (as with all EA games) is in it's "buggier than fuck" phase right now, random crap like that should be expected.

I have heard about inflation before, but this takes the crown :eek:

Unless it's:
A) Not US dollars
B) simple typo, and should have been 80 US dollars...

Terra - I know nothing about US prices BTW :D
 
I think we have something in comon. I've noticed BF 2 crashing a lot since I updated my drivers to 5.6 cats. I downgraded to 5.5 and I seem to be running more stable. I think I read somewhere on the rage3d forums that the 5.6 cat drivers are causing some video cards (x850xt pe "mine") to overheat? I coudln't see how or why but I do notice i don't get artifacting and crashes in bf2 right now.. I'm goign to further test to make sure. been playing too much SWG w/ my jedi rofl
