Voltage Question?

I have my cpu voltage set to 1.75 in my Bios. I know that sounds high but in the pc health part of bios it never reads it going above 1.64, that includes cpu-z and core center, they all read that. So my question is does that voltage go up under load, like a game or something, or would i be safe to set my voltage to 1.8 in Bios so that i can get it to read about 1.7 in cpu-z, core center and the pc health section of Bios, basically so that i can get more of an overclock.

Also what do you guys set your AGP voltage too? I have mine at 1.55, but does it really matter when you have a seperate line for power going to your card, as in my case with my 6800GT? Will raising it help me overclock my card more? thanks for any info.

The onboard voltage sensors aren't very accurate. You're better off adjusting your voltage to the minimum needed for stability, and ignoring the numbers.

The AGP voltage is just a signalling voltage, it doesn't supply power ever. Unless you are heavily overclocking your AGP port, you can leave it at 1.5.

the real question is... why do you have to set your voltage that high? you should be able to pull a nice overclock with only 1.6 vcore... aren't your temps sky-high at 1.7 vcore? i'd just hate to see you fry that chip on air-cooling because you are hitting such a high vcore..

from what i've read the recommended MAX vcore for the A64's on air is around 1.6

i've never seen my temps go above about 48, that's with Prime 95 running the torture test at priority 10....so temps are not a problem
