Voice Recording Software

Currently have a bit project about langauges and will soon have someone coming round to put a voice to a lot of Italian words, there is about 1200 words and around 300 sentances.

Anyone done anything like this before? can you recommend any good software? I know theres a built in one in vista (i think) but if theres something better out there i'd prefer to use that. I'm sure i'll have to go in and edit a lot of spaces and errors.

Try Audacity. It's a free wave editor, should work great.

Audacity works just fine for simple podcasting and editing, so...
