Anyone else having major issues with anything other than kernel 3.xx in Linux with VMware. With windows as the host computer and Linux as the vm, it crashes constantly with kernel 4.xx.

Never had a problem myself with multiple recent distros. I have found that VMware's auto-install process can sometimes be wonky, and it's better to select the 'install later' option when creating the guest, then mount the ISO and use the distro's own installer.

You might want to provide some more detail, such as the distro(s) tried, specific kernel version(s) tried, Vmware app/version, Windows version, etc.

Host OS - Win 8.1
Installing VM OS - PCLinux 2016.03 64

VMWare workstation 11.3

I'm using workstation player 12 on Windows 10 and not having any issues with kernals above 4. Got two running right now.
