VMware View not working over the internet

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Problem is with a HP t5145 itself, somehow, connecting over the internet. On the same LAN segment, everything works. Across the internet the device connects to the VMware View server, authenticates in, I get a listing of the available desktops, when I go to connect the status of the desktop changes from disconnected to active and nothing happens.

I know the VMware View environment works because 1. the HP t5145 works on the same LAN segment (in the office) 2. I can connect to the desktops over the internet using a web browser 3. I can connect over the internet using a thin client live cd (thinstation.org). This also rules out any firewall configuration issues.

Tried all the tricks I can find off Google, direct connect to desktop/different FQDN URL’s/using IP’s only. Tried 3x different OS levels on the t5145 (2x thin connect OS and ThinPro or something like that). Moved it off HTTPS to just HTTP, no difference.

It’s got to be something in the way this specific devices OS (t5145) is handling the name resolution I guess. Part where things are failing is then the VMware starts to tunnel the RDP traffic over HTTPS I think.
 
are you tunneling your session or connecting directly to the client VM?
 
tunneling, tried direct option in the View server with no change
