What are you trying to accomplish? any specific scenario?
 
Yes the OP is asking but each has it's pro's and con's, one may be better suited for a certain task.
 
I am an entry-level user. Currently I run VMware because I test/run all kind of non-Windows platforms and suspect maybe VMware is more willing to look into those environments and updates/patches based on reading release/tech-notes,readings on forum and web. However, I do not have much Hyper-V experience so maybe this is one-sided view.

I use Hyper-V because in most client situations, they use MS Server to provide several different services.

Hyper-V is not a great option if you plan to install various flavors for Linux. Most will work, but they are not as smooth jumping in and out of the VM window.
 
for me, i use VMware for enterprise virtualization and Sun's virtualbox for desktop virtualization. Virtualbox on the desktop because it's free, and VMware because it's HAWT.

few reason I use VMware:

I use SunRay thin clients backed with VMware view, works great

we're also a Netapp shop, and back whe we first started (and they still do) have a good partnership together (kinda a vendor thing?)

we can buy VMware licenses from the same vendor as our Sun Iron

VMware DRS and HA make my life easier

VMware support is great, both community and our maintenance contracts

reasons for using virtualbox on the desktop:

compatible with OSX, windows, and Linux (I have workstations using all 3, Macbook, iMac, Dell poweredge workstation, whiteboxes running linux)

works
