Is anyone having any problems running vmware with the F8 fix under Vista x64 SP1? There are rumours that F8 functionality is being removed... Can anyone shed some light on this?

Nope, however depending on when you got SP-1 we found it hurt the performance of relic's machine, that was the original special release to a few targeted people. So far I haven't seen it in my updates.

Are you saying you can't enter safe mode anymore or that the ignore driver signing options is gone?

I will install Vista x64 today or tomorrow but I'm confused about that F8 change ??

with x64, you need to hit F8 at boot to use unsigned drivers, which vmware requires. (or you can not install a KBfix and use some convoluted method, F8 works better for me)

With SP1, there are rumours that the F8 functionality with unsigned drivers checking is somehow disabled. Which would be annoying as shit.

F8 still works, and my performance was unchanged, though like anything of the scope of SP1, I would say performance mileage may vary :D
