Virtual PC full screen issue

Hey guys, I am running Win 7 HP x64 as the Main OS on the laptop in my sig. I am trying to run Vista Business 32bit on Virtual PC 2007. However, whenever I go in full screen mode it says "The video mode of the Virtual Machine is too large for your monitor." I don't get why, cause it's set to 800x600 and my laptop screen is 1366x768. Any idea on what the issue is?

The only use for the Virtual Machine that I have is that when I remote connect to work, the proxy software I use only works for Vista and XP. I used to be able to get around by using firefox in compatibility mode for WinXP, but that workaround doesn't work with a 64-bit OS. So if you guys have any suggestions on how to fix that issue, then I wouldn't even need the virtual machine. Thanks.
 
i always use vmware, not a fan or vpc.

why not install xp in the vm? it will run faster.
 
drivers really. This laptop only has drivers for Win7. They don't install if any other OS is installed. Vista at least has enough native support that it can connect to the internet and such. Which is really all I need for this. Is VMWare free? Exactly what program should I use from them? They apparently have quite a few.
