Hey all, I have been on these forums for some time and can say I get the best advice from this community. I need some guidance though on a new build I'm doing. I want to build a virtual server for service running and testing/learning purposes. I currently have a mac mini running my PMS and glype services. I love it because of how silent it is, I forget that it's turned on at times.
I would like to build a light gaming/virtual server with raid 5 possibility. If I can get it quiet that would be awesome also but I know that depends on the case and the fans. The virtual server client I was looking at was vmware workstation. I saw I could install it on Windows 7 and run multiple VM's for each service. I would like to exspand my services to PMS, Glype, and backup of all my computers.
Would it be better to just continue using my mac mini and look into getting a NAS or firewire enclosure or to build a new computer? Gaming isn't a must so if i need to get rid of that functionality its not a deal breaker.
