I hate this idea that that rich bugger , Branston Pickle just decided to do to pee us all off.

Does anyoen know how this virgin media system actually works ? and what protocols does it affect

I doubt it is good eenough to filter out bittorrent traffic but it is able to filter out kiddie p2p clients like limewire etc..

I do a lot of seeding of legal torrents and im just curious.

Do they have these systems in any other countries on other ISP's ? Or am i just unlucky that i live in Britain.

Also this service must a be a breach on our privacy as they are looking at our traffic ? And virmin are planning to introduce that phorm rubbish, and there is no option to opt out! How are they allowed to get away with this ?

Its not Richard Bransons doing, he sold up years ago.
Basically, if you are caught downloading pirated media, Virgin will start slowing your connection down.
They do it anyway so I doubt you'll notice :D

Thats the theory , they may just target those using file sharing programs.
You never know the truth until it happens, especially not with Virgin.
It may be a breach of privacy (?) but the Government have given a time limit for ISPs to start restricting illegal downloads otherwise they will impose rules from parliament.
