Viewsonic VP201x & Dell FP2001 base

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase a 20 inch TFT in the very near future.
I've been reading with interest, the comparisons between the Dell 2001FP and the Viewsonic VP201's. The general consensus seems to be the Viewsonic outperforms the Dell.

I've looked at photo's of the Viewsonic display, but think the base is really ugly.

We use Dell 2001FP's at work. One of our users knocked a screen off his desk and cracked the whole front of the display. Dell have rendered it beyond repair, but left us with the base unit.

As the actual glass panel is said to be the same on both the Dell and the Viewsonic, I wondered if it is possible to use the Dell base on a viewsonic display?

Does anyone know if the fixings are the same?

No, Viewsonic is a single piece, base and screen.

While you're spending that kind of $$, why not get yourself a cool articulated arm to mount the monitor on?

A VP201 mounted on one of these would be so sweet...

Oh. And yes.
Both monitors have 100mm VESA mountings so you should be able to swap the stands.
